CEOs may ask this question to determine whether you're more passionate about finding a job that brings you happiness, or if you're simply in it for the paycheck.

What to include in your answer:

This might seem like a trick question for most people, but it's important to be completely honest and candid with your answer. Whether you simply want a job for an income or you're truly passionate about your career, share your opinion and the reasoning behind your answer.

So you have a job interview, and with the company's CEO, no less. While getting ready for any job interview takes a dedicated amount of work and effort, and comes with a fair amount of stress, getting ready for a C-level interview can be downright intimidating. This is the top brass, the one that (hopefully) has a vested interested in the long-term success of the company.

So what do you do? Research on the company would obviously be first on the list. The more you know, the better prepared you'll be. But, you also need to fully understand your past and your motivation for doing the work entailed in the job for which you are applying. Think long-term career goals.
