‘Effectively Using and Securing the Cloud Computing Paradigm’ PowerPoint Presentation
This slideshow, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, defines cloud computing, gives an overview of cloud security, outlines cloud migration paths, identifies cloud publications and explains the need for minimal standards. It also includes industry insights, describes foundational tech components and presents case studies and security models.
Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.
This slideshow presentation was created to provide education on cloud technology and its benefits and generate productive discussion of cloud security.
Part One of the presentation, entitled “Effective and Secure Use,” defines cloud computing, gives an overview of cloud security, outlines cloud migration paths, identifies cloud publications and explains the need for minimal standards. Part Two, “Cloud Resources, Case Studies, and Security Models,” includes additional insights on cloud computing from industry experts, describes foundational components of the technology and presents case studies and security models.
