Five Ways IT Can Increase Customer Engagement

For those small to midsized businesses that haven’t yet converted their websites to mobile, Wix has launched a new platform that automatically converts websites created within its platform into an optimized mobile version.

The company already provides an easy-to-use HTML5 web-dev platform that has been a favorite among SMBs worldwide.

Wix’s dedicated clientele have been waiting for a simple way to convert their sites to be mobile, and the company delivered. The new mobile platform conveniently translates a site’s content, composition, ecommerce functionality, and any integrated applications into a mobile version. And via a WYSIWYG enabled mobile editor, customers can change up their mobile sites, while not disturbing their main website.

As a company, Wix realized that the mobile market is the next big thing for its customers. According to Avishai Abrahami, co-founder and CEO of Wix:

“Our goal has always been to put the power of the Web into the hands of our users by providing tools to create and manage a professional and comprehensive online presence. The new mobile solution is the latest addition to the Wix suite, allowing SMBs, entrepreneurs and creative professionals to compete effectively however the market evolves.”

The new Wix mobile sites follow mobile web best practices, such as:

  • Single URL structure among versions
  • Single source code
  • Single source for content

By developing in this way, customers gain greater SEO abilities and are able to manage their online presence from one location—updating content on the website automatically updates the mobile site.

Wix has also recently begun the process of its initial public offering by filing its registration statement with the U.S. SEC.
