Louisville, KY – September 30, 2008 – The majority of US and Canadian technology decision makers not currently using Software as a Service (SaaS) products for IT infrastructure management said they would consider using SaaS products to manage critical infrastructure like desktop hardware and software, network systems, software patches and e-mail archiving, according to a recent study conducted by IT Business Edge and Palmer Research. Of those not currently using SaaS solutions, 40% said they would consider employing one in the next 18 months.

Only 12% of the more than 700 IT and business managers who participated in the survey said they are currently using (SaaS) in their IT infrastructure management efforts. The research project was sponsored by Dell Modular Services.

“Though the SaaS model has not been adopted by a lot of companies so far, many seem open to the concept when it comes to managing their IT infrastructure,” said Wallace Palmer, principal of Palmer Research. “This suggests the potential for significant future growth in this area.”
