CIOs Analyze, Choose the Midmarket’s Best Solution and Strategy at IT Business Edge Midmarket CIO Forum.
LOUISVILLE, KY – April 5, 2010 –The results are in … and CIOs from mid-sized organizations across America have named the best midmarket strategy and solution. IT Business Edge has announced that Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) took home the prize for Best Midmarket Strategy while TriGeo Network Security won Best Midmarket Solution. The winners were selected based on ballots from senior IT executives who attended the recently-held Midmarket CIO Forum in Orlando.
The Midmarket CIO Forum was a first-of-its-kind event for IT Business Edge, at which hand-picked IT executives gathered to meet in boardroom settings with technology vendors seen as crucial to their businesses. The event allowed focused interaction and relationship-building between solution providers and decision makers. After previewing individual technologies in private boardroom appointments, the technology executives completed confidential ballots to determine winners of the event’s strategy and solution awards.
These selections, according the IT Business Edge president Phil Branon, are significant.
“After review by the toughest critics in the IT world – CIOs at midmarket companies – two approaches stood out from a diverse group of nominees, and they are taking home the first Midmarket CIO Forum Awards,” said Phil Branon, president, IT Business Edge. “Over three days, CIOs reviewed details of vendor offerings and put strategies to test through boardroom meetings, in discussions over meals, and in one-on-one settings. Our winners’ approaches survived relentless inspection by a very informed audience.”
Nominees for Best Midmarket Solution included offerings from Cast Iron Systems, Google and TriGeo Network Security. Nominees for Best Midmarket Strategy included approaches from Google, IBM (NYSE:IBM) and Tango/04 Computing Group.
Planning is now underway for the next Midmarket CIO Forum, to be held in Q4 2010. Unlike conventional conferences and seminars, all IT Business Edge Midmarket CIO Forum attendees are pre-qualified based on their purchase decision-making power and organizational profile. Each event participant is flown to Orlando and attends a series of boardroom meetings hosted by vendor sponsors meeting with 10 to 12 IT executives at a time. Vendors and IT executives also have opportunities to schedule one-on-one meetings with each other.
