Top 10 Most In-Demand IT Job Titles

General Motors has announced plans for a fourth IT hub, this one in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler, reports Network World. It is expected to be up and running by the first quarter of 2014.

The automaker is expected to add 1,000 IT positions in Arizona and said it would hire 4,000 at its four hubs over the next three to five years. The sites previously announced include Austin, Texas; Warren, Mich.; and Roswell, Ga.

The sites were chosen based on the availability of talent locally. The sites will give the company access to more than 7,000 students at over 150 colleges and universities majoring in IT-related fields, according to the article.

The company’s career page lists open positions in Arizona including software engineering, SAP developer, agile process lead, cyber threat analyst and more.

However, GM will have to compete for IT talent with European company Stealth Software, which recently announced plans to set up its U.S. headquarters in the Phoenix area, adding 200 jobs.

And USAA, a financial services provider for military families, plans to expand, adding 3,500 new jobs, including information security specialists, in Phoenix and San Antonio, Texas, according to Area Development Online. As many as 1,000 new jobs are expected to be added in the Phoenix area.
