When it comes to cloud computing, it’s clear that most people inside the average organization are not on the same page about the level of security being provided or the level of priority that cloud security should be given.
In a survey of 18,750 individuals in the IT and IT security fields and another 11,569 individuals in various organizational compliance functions, conducted by The Ponemon Institute on behalf of Vormetric, a provider of encryption and database security software, it becomes clear how far apart IT people and executives responsible for compliance regulations are on what’s important about the cloud and what level of security exists.

Ironically, compliance officers have more confidence than IT.
Not everybody is on the same cloud security page.
Different set of priorities as well.
Anything that doesn’t require scrutiny.
Unstructured data leads the way.
Internal threats are the biggest concern.
Lots to be concerned about.
Big drop off after firewalls and anti-virus software.
Not much clarity.
Not much in the way of being proactive.
