The State of Unified Communications Adoption

While unified communication technologies are well represented in the enterprise, there appears to be very little consistency in terms of which UC technologies are broadly applied. IT organizations are deploying a mix of UC products as they see fit.

A new study of 121 IT organizations conducted by Osterman Research on behalf of Azaleos, a provider of services for managing Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft UC environments, does find that Microsoft and Cisco, followed by Avaya, are driving the majority of the market.

It doesn’t look like UC will be moving into the cloud in the enterprise any time soon despite the rising popularity of various UC services among consumers.
