‘Social Media for Trainers’ Excerpt

This book chapter illustrates how trainers can host online courses and stay in touch with learners and target groups using popular social media networks such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

Aimed at broadening the reach and increasing the impact of training, Jane Bozarth’s
“Social Media for Trainers” provides a how-to resource for trainers who want to
incorporate social media tools. Bozarth gives an overview of social tools such as
Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, wikis and blogs with the goal of enhancing the value of
training.

The chapter “Facebook and Other Communities” describes how instructors can use the
popular social networking site to stay in contact with learners, host online courses
and promote a collaborative learning environment.
