Five Ways to Get the Job When You’re ‘Overqualified’

The two tech-heavy segments tracked by the Labor Department — Management and Technical Consulting Services along with Computer Systems Design and Related Services — continue to show strong gains despite the less-than-stellar growth in other job categories. They accounted for more than 19,000 new jobs in August.

They’re so strong, in fact, that Forbes contributor Elena Bajic, founder and CEO of executive recruiting firm cites IT consulting and health care consulting, along with environmental consulting, in a piece called “Where The (Really Good) Jobs Are.”

If you’ve decided to strike out on your own, Houston-based IQ Tech Pros, which helps consultants find jobs, is offering a marketing workshop, “How to Land a Hot IT Project.” The content is the same, if you can’t make the one today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central Time. Another will be Thursday, Oct. 4, from noon to 2 p.m. CT. Sign up on the company’s website by clicking the “Attend New Webinar” link.
