Gartner has released the speakers for its Security & Risk Management Summit, to be held June 10-13 in Washington, D.C. Symantec CEO Steve Bennett, Admiral Mike Mullen and Ferrazzi Greenlight CEO Keith Ferrazzi are featured keynote speakers.
The summit also has a new dimension: industry-specific content.
IT security; business continuity management and risk, including network and infrastructure security, identity and access management, compliance, privacy, fraud, business continuity management; and resilience will all be addressed in the five role-based programs:
- CISO Program
- IT Security
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Business Continuity Management (BCM)
- The Business of IT Security
Then, sessions are also organized into five industry-specific tracks:
- Energy/Utilities
- Financial Services
- Government
- Health Care
- Manufacturing
The opportunity for attendees to craft an agenda largely focused around their own industry’s demands may be key; a recent survey conducted by Vormetric on data security drivers found respondents in banking/financial services, retail, manufacturing and other industries driven more by their specific technology and data needs, rather than compliance requirements. The realization that compliance is no guarantee of security is also becoming something of a mantra among executives pushing their organizations to break through complacency and get more detail-oriented.
