Positive sign upon positive sign in Dice.com’s end-of-2013 hiring survey of human resource managers, recruiters, consulting and staffing companies that primarily hire or recruit technology professionals around the U.S. led Dice.com President Shravan Goli to comment:
“The New Year should be ‘all systems go’ for tech professionals on the career front. There aren’t many times when you can write your own ticket, but this consistent optimism and upward pressure on compensation means it’s time to capitalize.”
Just shy of three-quarters, or 73 percent, of the respondents said they will be hiring in the next six months. Twenty-four percent said the hiring will be “substantial,” a rise over the 19 percent who said so six months prior in a similar survey.
Voluntary departures by employees are rising, according to 42 percent of corporate hiring managers, and 41 percent report an increase in counteroffers for retention.
The main reason for these departures remains compensation, report 75 percent of the hiring managers.
