While the Web has become more strategic for almost every business it touches, it’s also becoming clearer that when it comes to making e-commerce decisions, a lot of businesses are flying blind.
A new survey of 228 IT and marketing professionals conducted by Endeca, a provider of e-commerce software, finds that business executives are making decisions without being able to see all the relevant data. Worse, many of them have to wait days, sometimes months, for IT departments to make changes to analytics tools they use when business requirements change. That means that in a world where e-commerce transactions take place in real time, many business managers are relying on analytics tools that were designed for a different era with predictable results.
