    Too Much Social Media Information

At any social event, people can easily wind up sharing too much information about their company. The trouble with social media is that the social event never ends.

A new survey of 1,225 enterprises with 1,000 employees or more, conducted by Applied Research on behalf of Symantec, finds that while usage of social media in the enterprise is way up, IT organizations are behind in their ability to police it.

This situation creates any number of risks for companies, ranging from violating regulations to inadvertently sharing information that sinks the stock price.

The good news is that the tools are getting better. The bad news is that there is more social media ground to cover with each passing day.
