Organizations waste $122 million for every $1 billion invested due to poor project performance. A recent Project Management Institute (PMI) survey of nearly 3,000 project management professionals and executives revealed that inaccurate time and task management is the leading cause of project failure at least 28 percent of the time. And with more people working away from their offices and computers, time and task tracking is becoming more cumbersome and imprecise.
This week, Changepoint, a leading provider of project portfolio management (PPM) solutions, announced Daptiv TTM, a task management, time entry, and timesheet submission application for project team members. Daptiv TTM’s responsive design optimizes the user experience, and its feature set for task management, time entry and submission simplifies the user experience for team members. However, unlike other standalone time management products, with Daptiv TTM, project leaders can also access the full functionality of Daptiv’s project and portfolio management capabilities.
“Project success relies on time and task management, which demands accurate data,” said Eric Bergman, vice president, Product Management, at Changepoint. “Team members need a way to submit information easily and accurately. Teams can better track tasks and submit timesheets, stakeholders get a more accurate view of project status, and initiatives move forward on time and on budget.”
Bergman says that Changepoint recognizes the difficulties of managing a project with a mobile workforce, which is why TTM is designed to work on phones, tablets and laptops.
In addition, Daptiv TTM integrates Daptiv PPM’s portfolio management capabilities which, says Bergman, enables project managers to accurately understand resource utilization, better understand where team members are spending their time, and more precisely predict the demand on each resource.
