One of the things that many end users and IT departments alike don’t often appreciate is just how repetitive business process integration can really be. Multiple departments frequently request the same basic type of integration multiple times over. To make it simpler to service those requests, Dell Boomi today added a Boomi Process Library to its integration platform-as-a-service (iPaaS) cloud platform, along with a range of improved governance capabilities.
Brett Stineman, director of product and partner marketing for Dell Boomi, a unit of Dell Technologies, says the inclusion of 27 pre-built integration processes in the Dell Boomi Fall 2016 release provides a foundation for organizations to start creating their own reusable integrations. As part of that effort, Dell Boomi is also making available a customizable Integration Pack User Interface that IT organizations can employ to design the look and feel of their own integrations.https://o1.qnsr.com/log/p.gif?;n=203;c=204663295;s=11915;x=7936;f=201904081034270;u=j;z=TIMESTAMP;a=20410779;e=iAt the same time, Dell Boomi with this release has revamped the core user interface it makes available to include support for more robust search functionality, in addition to making available more connectors to third-party applications and cloud services that IT organizations can readily invoke.
Finally, in the realm of data governance, Dell Boomi is making it simpler to manage golden records as well as track overall data quality via new reporting functionality. Other new tools include a console for tracking the management of application programming interfaces (APIs) via Dell Boomi and a mechanism for reviewing certificates that might be about to expire.
Overall, Dell Boomi claims over 5,000 customers are making use of an iPaaS delivered via the cloud.
“We’re now adding three or four new customers a day,” says Stineman.
At that rate, it suggests that digital business transformations are starting to escalate the number of integrations that need to occur at a pace many IT organizations are not going to be able to keep up with, relying on legacy frameworks that make capturing a process in a repeatable fashion more of a challenge than it should be.
