They say to one degree or another every organization is now a software company; they just don’t say much about how to actually manage the development of that software.

Jama Software has unfurled an Agile Workflow Design service based on Jama Integration Hub running in the cloud that centralizes the requirements and test management process for product delivery.

Eric Nguyen, director of product marketing for Jama Software, notes that while there is no shortage of options available to developers to manage the DevOps process, there is usually no central repository through which the rest of the business can track the progress of product development.

To provide that capability, Jama Software licensed synchronization software from Tasktop, a provider of application lifecycle management (ALM) software.

Nguyen says that given the pace of agile application development, most of the tools that organizations have relied on to track product development simply can’t keep up. By providing an Agile Workflow Design service that is hosted in the cloud, everyone in the business can now easily see what needs to be done and where the bottlenecks are regardless of where any piece of software is being developed around the globe.

Between the rise of agile development and globalization, software development has fundamentally changed. The challenge now is finding a way for the rest of the business to catch up to its progress.
