As with any other Web application, it is important to keep a log of the modifications that have been made to SharePoint sites. Knowing when and why modifications were made, and by whom, can be invaluable when troubleshooting a problem with a SharePoint site. This tool provides you with the means for logging each modification that is made to your SharePoint sites.

This tool is designed to use a separate spreadsheet tab for each SharePoint site that is being documented. Initially, the spreadsheet contains five tabs which can be used to document five different SharePoint sites. Initially, you should rename each tab to reflect the name of the site that it will be used for. You can rename a tab by right clicking it and choosing the Rename command from the shortcut menu. Once each tab has been renamed, simply populate the spreadsheet to document changes to the individual SharePoint sites.

Part of the SharePoint Starter Kit, this tracking tool was provided by Toolkit Cafe, a leading provider of templates and tools created by IT Managers for IT Managers.
