Big Data Certification and Training Options on the Rise

There’s a massive amount of pressure on IT organizations to support any number of real-time business processes. The problem is that the vast majority of the applications and systems they have in place were designed around batch-processing architectures that don’t support real-time processing.

Looking to provide IT organizations with a way to layer real-time data integration on top of those batch-processing applications, Oracle has been steadily expanding the capabilities of Oracle GoldenGate data integration software, the latest version of which adds support for NoSQL databases and Hadoop alongside a wide variety of relational databases.

With the rise of everything from mobile computing to the Internet of Things (IoT), organizations of all sizes are trying to take any and all latency out of their business processes as part of the drive to become a digital business. The challenge is that none of them can afford to rip and replace their existing legacy applications, the vast majority of which are batch-processing applications.

Jeff Pollock, vice president of product management for the Oracle Data Integration business unit, says Oracle GoldenGate 12c solves that problem with a layer of data integration software that unifies real-time and bulk data movement, transformations, data governance, data virtualization, and data quality management, all of which are increasingly critical components of any number of advanced enterprise applications environments.

For all the high-minded talk about the shift to becoming a digital business, advancing the state-of-the-art in the enterprise once again doesn’t come down to rocket science, but rather good old-fashioned data management.
