Organizations categorized as high performing - meaning they had the highest software deployment rates, fastest change lead times, and lowest change failure rates - shared two practices that are essential to DevOps: version control and automation.
Puppet Labs recently surveyed more than 4,000 IT operations professionals in its annual survey on the state of DevOps. This year's survey indicated a substantial increase in the DevOps adoption rate across organizations of all sizes, located in more than 90 countries.
Puppet Labs believes this trend is due to the real business value that DevOps provides - value that is indicated by key performance metrics corresponding to agility and reliability.
