The release of the Apple iPad has led to the expected flurry of creativity by developers. Unlike the iPhone, which entered the market squarely aimed at the consumer segment, the iPad is being given a big initial welcome by business users and developers.

Indeed, the nature of the new device and the general maturation of the industry are making the iPad a potential hit on the business circuit. Sybase recently released a survey – done by Zogby International and directed by Bite Communications for Sybase – that identified the ability to be more productive at work as the leading reason mobile device-savvy people would buy an iPad.
