News of movement among the open source elite: Former Yahoo developer Jeremy Zawodny has taken a position at classifieds Web site Craigslist. Wired reports:
After spending 8.5 years at Yahoo, Zawodny announced his decision to go amid a slew of high-profile departures. He denied that the move had anything to do with the MicroHoo-Icahn drama.
Zawodny indicated that the chance to move to a smaller company was "too interesting to pass up." In a blog post he said:
...[T]he people are great, and the focus is on providing a great service that anyone can use. At the same time, there are a lot of technical challenges... and great opportunities to grow the site and give back to both the open source community and all the communities around the world that craigslist serves -- a list that's growing all the time.
