Remember the injunction that would have required Microsoft to stop selling Word with XML capabilities as of next month? And the appellate hearing the company will have later this month? ZDNet reports that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has stayed the injunction pending appeal.
Microsoft spokesman Kevin Kutz said simply:
"We are happy with the result and look forward to presenting our arguments on the main issues."
Plantiff i4i is confident in its position, the story says. Chairman Loudon Owen said:
"Microsoft's scare tactics about the consequences of the injunction cannot shield it from the imminent review of the case by the Federal Circuit Court of Appeal."
The court will hear oral arguments in the appeal on Sept. 23.
