Processors continue to grow smaller and grow closer to the limits of Moore's law, which states that capacity doubles about every two years. Vendors such as Intel and AMD are heavily invested in researching new technologies, such as parallel computing, to make gains. And beyond the challenges of building better hardware comes the issue of developing software that can keep up. As mobile devices keeping evolving and growing smaller, they add a whole new arena for development and battleground for sales.
