Oracle

Enterprise software maker Oracle has been riding high from targeting new markets and gobbling up other companies, the most notable recently being BEA Systems. That deal gave Oracle a boost to number two in the middleware market behind IBM. It leads the market in database software and competes with SAP in business applications. On a buying spree lately, Oracle has acquired more than 30 smaller companies since 2005 and launched initiatives for medical and pharmaceutical clients and for the insurance industry.
