Cisco Systems

Established in 1984, Cisco provides Internet Protocol-based network technology. Cisco specializes in routing and switching, but is also working in such areas as application networking, telepresence, digital media and unified communications. In 2003, Cisco acquired Linksys, and through that division has bridged the gap between its business and consumer customers. The 2007 acquisition of WebEx and its business-to-business collaboration technology adds to Cisco's efforts in unified communications.
