Pharming

Pharming redirects an unknowing Internet user to a malicious site. Domain Name System servers translate between the IP address of a site and the names by which they are known. Pharming manipulates these settings to commandeer people away from where they want to go. Since victims think that they are in a safe environment, they freely use logons, passwords and other information that can be harvested for identity theft and other criminal activities.
