Virtualization is the process of divorcing the hardware and software elements of system. In a virtualized environment, the underlying task can be done or application executed in a far more flexible manner because it no longer is tied to specific pieces of underlying physical hardware. Virtualization is sometimes referred to as the abstraction of computer resources. This refers to the idea that computing tasks can be departmentalized and implemented in a number of flexible scenarios.
