Remote Access

As more and more workers telecommute and travel for business, IT must provide them remote access to the corporate network while ensuring the security of the company's data. Two common methods of remote access are through VPN, which simulates a local network connection over the Internet, and terminal server, which allows users to access systems inside the network perimeter. In addition to providing a secure connection, IT must ensure that remote-access client systems are themselves secure.
