Software-as-a-Service, or SaaS, is an increasingly popular purchasing model in which businesses pay for seats of an application hosted and maintained by the vendor. SaaS has gained more traction than its predecessor, ASP, as Web-based applications have become more robust and smaller shops demand the functionality of powerful enterprise software applications.
