Enterprise Search

Enterprise search is an effort to put all of an organization's valuable information at the fingertips of employees in a comfortable, easy-to-use interface. Most vital information within a company lives outside databases in unstructured formats, such as e-mails, spreadsheets and word-processing documents. Enterprise search aims to not only index all these sources for retrieval, but to add some weighting and context to help users sort through all that information. User profiling appears to be a key trend in enterprise search.
