Demands for constant uptime and high performance prompt most business to contract with vendors to host their Web sites. Key issues in picking a hosting provider, other than cost, are guarantees of uptime, disaster-recovery planning, support and ease of migration to new hardware when your business demands it. Some companies choose to buy dedicated hardware that is housed and supported by a hosting provider; other firms simply rent space on the hosting company's servers.
