When beginning a business, you must decide what form of business entity to establish: sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, S corporation or limited liability company, in which the owners have limited personal liability for the debts and actions of the company. Each has legal and tax implications. There's no such thing as the perfect form for any business. The choice will be a balancing act among the various advantages and disadvantages. But as business needs change, it's possible to migrate to a different form.
