IT Process Management

Major IT standards, such as CMMI and ITIL, are based on the desire to capture the blend of experience, skill and control required to make IT projects a success. But the benefits of process management can get swamped by bureaucracy and sap the life from IT. At its best, IT process management focuses on repeatable activities that can be standardized or areas that require a high level of control. The desire to manage quality through processes should not override the drive to produce the best results.
