Business Case

A business case examines the reasoning behind proposals for new projects and how they will add value to the company. Such a case would clearly present the benefits to the business of such a project, how the project will be managed, its cost and projected risk and how outcomes will be tracked. It should spell out alternatives considered - including doing nothing -- and why each was rejected. Over time, the rationale should be revisited to determine whether it is still valid and whether the expected outcomes still seem likely.
