Malicious attacks are on the rise, and one area of enterprise IT that has proven vulnerable is the deployment of applications. Application security includes any software, hardware or procedure that protects applications from external threats. Security best practices or countermeasures taken to protect applications include the use of application firewalls, routers, encryption/decryption programs, antivirus software and identity authentication.
