In her blog, Anne Thomas Manes says SOA turned out to be a great failed experiment, with most projects getting funding cut due to the tight budgets of 2009. Going forward, Manes says the focus should be on "mashups, BPM, SaaS, Cloud Computing, and all other architectural approaches that depend on 'services'."
