Malware Cited in Dropped Child Pornography Charges Against State Employee

Michael Fiola, a former investigator with the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents, had charges of child pornography against him dropped. An investigation could not prove that Fiola had downloaded the images. Fiola's work-issued laptop was found to be poorly configured and riddled with malware, which could have been responsible for downloading the objectionable images.
