EU Regulators Studying Intel's Response to Antitrust Charges
Sydney Morning Herald on January 08, 2008
EU competition regulators are carefully studying Intel's response to antitrust charges. The Commission accuses Intel of offering substantial rebates to computer makers that use its chips, making payments to clients to delay or cancel products using AMD's chips, and selling its chips below cost in some cases. An Intel spokesman said the company's response to the charges was "confidential" but that the group was sure its activities were "in line with the law" and that the company requested a hearing.
