Gaming Industry Bets on SOA

For Harrah's and Tote, betting on an emerging technology has brought winnings all around. Harrah's decision six years ago to move to service-oriented architecture has brought an added benefit: better support for its acquisition-based business model. SOA enabled the Tote to cut Will Pay calculations to 12 seconds and to give a final forecast at the very start of a race. This has boosted interest in pool betting.
