GM CIO Standardizes Outsourcing Processes

General Motors CIO Ralph Szygenda has written a book called "CMMI For Outsourcing," which uses the Capability Maturity Model Integration Model for Acquisitions to show companies how to standardize interactions with IT services vendors. Szygenda says there is significant savings from getting suppliers to follow common processes.
