Skype Outage Not Reflective of IP Communications

This blog post discusses the major distinctions between Skype's proprietary peer-to-peer model and the widely used standards-compliant peer-to-peer model. Skype's outage was a setback for IP communications, but standards-compliant peer-to-peer was not at issue.
