SEC Chairman Supports Sarbox Regulations

In a speech at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's First Annual Capital Markets Summit, SEC Chairman Christopher Cox expressed his support for Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. He agreed with the numerous reports that stated there were excessive costs related to Sarbox, but said it would be wrong to throw out the legislation as it corrected serious problems and brought integrity back to the markets.
