Dogear Is Centerpiece of IBM Lotus Connections

What is the centerpiece of IBM's newly announced suite of "social software services" called Lotus Connections? An endearingly named feature called Dogear, which allows users to bookmark or tag items of interest, a la del.icio.us, gets this columnist's vote. Dogear also cleverly nudges users toward using common tags for common ideas. He sees this as nothing less than "a reinvention of knowledge management that turns traditional thinking on its head" by creating taxonomies that are far more democratic and flexible than those created by traditional knowledge architects.
