Microsoft Says Third-Party Apps Pose Risk to Windows Vista

By itself, Windows Vista is immune from attacks from existing malware, Microsoft said this week. But third-party e-mail applications could pose security problems for the new operating system, it said. The statement was in response to a finding in November by a security evaluator that three of the 10 most prevalent forms of malware successfully infiltrated Windows Vista in a test.
