How Are SaaS Providers like Babysitters?
Gianpaolo's blog on October 14, 2006
In one of the wackiest — yet strangely on-target — analogies we've seen concerning software-as-a-service, this blogger says many CIOs select SaaS providers the way they select a babysitter. Key questions include: How do I know that my kids/enterprise will be secure and properly taken care of, instead of being neglected? How many referrals do I need before trying a new babysitter/SaaS provider? Can I enjoy my night out or am I continuously phoning my babysitter/SaaS provider to ensure everything is OK? As with babysitters, common selection criteria for SaaS providers often include referrals, ratings and certification. A couple of thought-provoking reader comments follow his post.
