Enterprise 2.0? Oh, Please!
ebizQ on August 21, 2006
You knew it was coming, and now it's here: Enterprise 2.0. This newest "2.0" incorporates Web 2.0 concepts like tagging, information, user-driven taxonomies (folksonomies), wikis, blogs, RSS feeds plus SaaS, Ajax and SOA. To put it another way, "SOA + Ajax + mashups = Smashups." While the tone here is perhaps over-evangelistic, at least some of the writer's vision will likely come to pass. One speed bump: Page-based interaction with coarse-grained data is the norm in today's Web applications. Ajax interactions are asynchronous and fine-grained.
