BPM — Hard to Define, but It Works
NewsFactor Network on August 08, 2006
What exactly is business process management (BPM)? The definition offered here is "a blending of machine-to-machine and human-to-machine connections to improve efficiency." BPM developed out of the re-engineering trend, particularly in factories. Since then, it has evolved into a software category with five sub-groups. Sometimes, vendors and IT people with an agenda contribute to the confusion surrounding BPM, but it does work. Bank of America (with Savvion), Wells Fargo (with Global 360) and ABN Amro (with TIBCO) have all put it to work.
