DoCoMo 3G Phones Will Host Microsoft's Windows Media
Top Tech News on May 11, 2006
Microsoft faces a different challenge in the smartphone and mobile sector than it does in desktops. In the office, the company is defending a dominant position. In mobile convergence, it is trying to shoulder its way ahead of a number of other players who enjoy equal or greater market share. This story says that NTT DoCoMo will use Windows Media on its next generation phones. The carrier says that Windows Media Audio will be added to freedom of mobile media (FOMA) handsets, beginning with the F902iS model slated for release during the summer.
