The Rising Cost of Mobile Malware

For the past year or so, there has been a lot of trepidation about the likelihood of malware attacking smartphones. Though there hasn’t been an overwhelming attack yet, viruses such as Cardtrap and Crossover show the ability to move from smartphones to desktops. This story, which hypes an Unstrung Enterprise Insider report, "Mobile Malware: The Enterprise at Risk," is particularly interesting in assigning actual costs of a disabled smartphone for a traveling worker earning $60,000 per year and an IT worker making $40,000. The cost was $144.24 for three hours lost.
